Exercises I Actually Like

Friday, March 18, 2011

Went to chiro Wednesday and Friday. Strange how exhausting all that stretching and crunching and mauling can be. But enough of not working out. I have a lot to get done in the next ten days, but no excuse not to get some exercise!

This looks useful:

But I'm not sure exactly which way (right or left) would be the best to emphasize. (Speaker in video needs to work on his speech patterns.)

Oh great. Chiro responds to the idea with this:
"I would not do this exercise. You have contraindications that I will explain to you on your next visit. Dr. Dan."

It may be time for second opinion(s).

Later, me to him: "Alright, but I will want to talk about what kind of resistance exercise I CAN do. I refuse to believe that my back can't be strengthened as well as straightened, and improve this situation."

Him to me: "There are definitely things we can do. One step at a time."

Still plan to consult with an orthopedist (i.e., a real doctor). They always want to operate on you, which I don't want anymore than a brace, but I should find out more. But mostly, I'm angry -- at myself, of course -- for allowing this to happen to me.
